The Nose

Sveiki brangieji,

Sekančią dieną po to kai pranešėm, kad lipsim Salathe, pralipom pirmas 10 virvių, bet paaiškėjo, kad laaaabai daug komandų ten ir tektų stumdytis daug ant to maršruto. Del to spontaniškai nusprendėm lipti Nosį, kuri buvo tuščia. Kitą rytą nutranzavom i papėdę ir pradėjom lipti. Deja, dvi komandos jau buvo prieš mus ant sienos, jie turėjo mašinas..

Bet viena iš komandų tik kabinosi 6 virves kitos dienos lipimui, tai ant sienos likom dviese su čekų komanda, kurių dabar kompą naudojam. Pirmą dieną daug lipom laisvu ir judėjom greitai, o nakvojom ant El Cap Tower - nuostabios metro pločio ir 5 metrų ilgio lentynos visi keturiese. Kitą dieną pasijautė nuovargis, tai daugiau aid'inti teko, bet buvo smagu, kol neužsipainiojo traukimo maišo virvė.. jai išpainioti sugaišom 4 valandas ir užlipom iki camp 5 - kitos lentynos - jau temstant. Beje, tą dieną praleidom du vyrukus, kurie Half Dome ir Nosį lipo per dieną. Šiaip bego žiauriai greitai - simulclimb'ino, short-fix'ino ir panašiai. Bet jie jau buvo gerai nusikalę, kai pro mus ėjo, tai The Great Roof aš greičiau pralipau ;)

Nakvojom romantiškesnėje lentynoje, kuri buvo pusantro metro ilgio ir mažai pločio. Saulė buvo prispausta prie sienos, o mano kojos nukarę nuo krašto. Žvaigždės buvo nuostabios. Nesinorejo užmerkti akių.

Trečią dieną jau jautėm viršunės kvapą ir smagiai lipom, changing corners virvė buvo itin įdomi ir netgi visai sudėtinga. Apie vidurdienį užlipom ant viršūnės, kurią tiek kartų buvom matę kitų paveikslėliuose. Gera. Pragulėjom ten kelias valandas, papietavom ir nusileidom i slėnį valgyt LEDŲ.

Tai tiek apie Nosė, ryt dar ilsimės, o poryt tikimės gauti portaledge'ą ir eisim ant stačios El Capitan'o Pietryčių Sienos. Zodiac arba Tangerine Trip maršrutais.

Čia tiek sienų maršrutų, spyglių... o tiek mažai laiko... sustok akimirka žavinga...

The next day after we told you that we were going to climb Salathe, we climbed the first 10 pitches, but we found out that a lot of teams were there. So we decided spontaneously to climb the Nose which was empty. The next morning we hitchhiked to the foot or the mountain and started climbing. Unfortunately, there were already two teams on the route. They had cars(an obvious advantage if you want to get in line first;)

But one of these teams was only fixing 6 pitches for the next day's climb, so there were us and a Czech team on route. We are using their computer now ;). We were moving fast on the first day and slept on El Cap tower - a brilliant 1 meter width and 5 meters length ledge. Four of us there. On the next day we felt a little bit tired so we did more aid, but it still was going well until our haulbag's rope hasn't got stuck. It took us 4 hours until we were finally able to move on. When we reached the 5th camp it was already dark. Two guys overtook us. They tried to climb Half Dome and Nose in one day. They were really fast - simulclimbing, short-fixing and so on. But they were completely exhausted by the time they reached us so I climbed the great roof faster.

We slept on a little more romantic ledge which was about 1,5m length and a not too much in width. Saule was squeezed to the wall, my legs were dangling from the edge. Stars were gorgeous. I didn't want to close my eyes.

On the third day we could smell the summit so it was easy to climb. Changing corners pitch was really interesting and quite difficult. At midday we finally reached the summit, which we've seen so many times in other people' pictures. Good. We've been laying there for few hours, had dinner and came back to the valley to eat ice-cream.

Tomorrow we will rest and the day after tomorrow we hope to find a portaledge and climb a steep southeast face of el cap. Zodiac or tangerine trip.
